Bruce's 2x4 Diner

An absolute top notch breakfast, at a really great price. The new owner gets his maple syrup from a nearby farm, and pays a bit more than he needs to because it tastes better, and supports local. My brother and I ordered each ordered some but our server suggested that we just share one serving to save us money. That's service! Lots of coffee top ups, and almost too much food. Whenever I'm back in the area I always bring friends here, and everybody loves it.

I check restaurants' health inspection reports before I will eat at one and the 2x4 has a squeaky-clean report. My Mom and I visited for the first time on a Sunday.

My wife, daughter and I decided after driving by to stop in for lunch. Our first time there but we will definitely be back! The service was great, and the diner had a relaxed atmosphere. Small inside but very clean and welcoming. The food was unreal. Fresh local ingredients. You can tell lots of care went into each dish with generous portions.

I’ve lived in Wainfleet my whole life and have been a frequent flyer to the 2x4 for it’s many owners in the past years. When we walked in we were greeted right away by the new and AMAZING owner Kyle. His smile lit up the space and it was the Sunday morning welcome I was looking forward to! The place was packed, but we had no issues taking up two stools at the bar. Breakfast was fresh and absolutely delicious. Kyle came back to chat with us during our meal. I had the Mindful morning and my partner got the stuffed French toast. If you get a chance to have a conversation with this man, please do… what a breath of fresh air!! A graceful presence, someone who cares so much for what he is serving up and is shows! We will 1000% be making this our regular spot. Thanks for a lovely morning and great conversation. We wish you great success!
