Café de Jaren

Cafe de jaren is my go to place in central.
I love everything about this place from delicious food to quick service to the grandeur of the place.

Shakshuka is the one of the best and must try!
Soup is great as welll.

Great place to sit, eat and watch the world go by. Make sure you sit at the back by the canal. The tomato soup was sensational!

A spacious, clean, bright, trendy interior with a casual vibe. The ‘city garden’ at the back is a hidden gem - if you’re lucky, you’ll get a table right ON the water overlooking the canal and lovely Amsterdam architecture. A great place to relax and watch the boats passing by. My goat cheese salad was delicious - vibrant with a great combination of flavours. The service was very friendly and efficient. Honestly, it’s pretty hard not to like this place!

Awesome place for a quick respite from a long day of tourism. Located not too far from the big flea market and small thrift stores to pop in and out of.

The Cafe de Jaren is clean and modern. Seating out back by the canal or inside. The prices are very decent and the wait staff is friendly and speaks a multitude of different languages.

And since it’s in the middle of a large city, parking is at your own risk. Ha!

Favourite place in Amsterdam! Right in the city centre, you may sit by the canal as well on their terrace. The food options are many and with reasonable prices and the waiting time for the table is not too long. Service is sometimes really bad, but lately they have been improving and we keep coming back! Definitely recommend.
