  This is a traditional pub, serving real ales from the cellar. Food is served, mainly 'Huffers' (large triangular rolls), with a variety of hot and cold fillings. A friendly place, in nice countryside. In the summer, it's a good place to visit after a long walk.

  Comfortable and nicely spruced out rooms, dripping in history. For us it was the ideal location for Leez Priory wedding venue. Friendly staff and tasty breakfast. Good value for money.

  Wow. Just wow. Everything great about English pubs, real ale, hearty food, and good service in one very pretty place. One of the best authentic pubs in Britain.

  Lovely pub, all the ale (much of it local) is from cask and kept in a small cellar just behind the bar. A simple but excellent food menu is available, with all the pub classics, as well as baked potatoes and huge sandwiches with a wide variety of fillings. There is a large garden with plenty of room for children and dogs alike. A great place to sit out for a summer afternoon.

I stayed at the Compasses Inn overnight on 22nd February 2014 along with my mother, sister and her fiance when we attended a family wedding at nearby Leez Priory. My mother and I were in 'ESX Best' which was nice, comfortable and clean with effective underfloor heating. The beds are 3' wide, 2' high and very comfortable.
