  Good beer, slightly less good thai food, too sweet for my taste (and the people that were with me as well).
  
  I came back on a less busy day and the food was better, so it depends on how much the place is crowded, I think!

  Good drinks and good food, even though the restaurant has its own seating you can still order food for the pub seating area which is great. Good friendly staff too.

  Delicious Thai food! The red curry is to die for! Very good prices, high value for the money you spend

  Thai food was pretty good. Average selection of ales. Has live bands even though I'm not too interested in them. Also has a large hidden pub garden with table football

  I don't know how an original review of two stars was left by my account. I was unaware any review had been left until a friend told me and I would always leave a comment to back up any positive or negative review. I can only assume it was a "pocket job". And apologise to the lovely landlady, Jess and her team. If I was reviewing this bar, (as I am now), I'd say it's an awesome place with the most friendly staff you could hope for. The landlady is always present and always makes time to come and say hi. They regularly play some really great live music there too. The food is outstanding! And if you know me, you know that is high praise indeed. I'm surprised anyone would negatively rate the John Baird; it's my favourite pub. If you can't find your way to give 5 stars to this very well run pub then you probably haven't given it a chance. Shame it only goes up to 5 stars.
