  Ok, so I thought, that’s interesting, a stained glass studio in Mudchute Park and Farm. I’ll just book a weekend course just for the fun of it.
  
  I was standing in the workshop and it took me about 2 minutes to realise what a brilliant and lucky decision it was to be there. Stephen made cutting glass feel like the most natural thing in the world and immediately we were at it ourselves making freehand cuts and curved cuts and even circles. And then we got to choose a design to create from the countless examples on display. I think I chose a hard one but Stephen did nothing but encourage me. I had so much fun. So much fun.
  
  And at the end of the day I got to take home something that I had made. I was so proud!
  
  The next day I came back and Stephen let me choose something more intricate to make and it sparked my imagination. It’s obvious how talented Stephen is and how happy he is to share his knowledge and experience and ideas. His teaching style is supportive while allowing you to be explorative. Stephen provided all the tools and materials and even provided more coloured glass so that I could be spoiled for choice. I cannot fault my time in the workshop. I now have two amazing pieces and I can’t help but have a huge grin when I say, “Yeah, I made those!”

  Stephen is so talented. I love this place. You can really learn a lot in this workshop as Stephen is so patient and passionate about stained glass. Can not wait to go back on Saturday.

  WOW! Had an amazing experience at Coat of Glass Studio. You can feel the passion and the motivation of Stephen and how much he cares about you learning the "Art of glass". I've attending my first weekend workshop without knowing much about Tiffany, and then I went home on Sunday with a beautiful little piece I am so pleased with. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed. Stepney City Farm is lovely, you can ear animals "voices" all around you and it makes you feel you really are in a special place. Stephen is a great teacher, very helping, sharing, careful. I loved the fact that he let me carry on with my own bizzarre idea, even if I was an absolute beginner. So thank you! I want to learn as much as I can and I will attend other weekend workshops for sure! So guys, if you love glass and want to learn Stained and Tiffany and have a beautiful experience at the same time, Coat of Glass is the place to be! ????

  Absolutely loved it!
  I have been twice now as I absolutely loved the relaxed way Stephen teaches and coming away with something beautiful for my house. The first time I visited I took my mum for her birthday and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a full on day and you one away exhausted but with such a sense of achievement. We just sat at home with a cup of tea staring at our art work raving about what a great day we had.
  The studio is easy to get to by tube. It’s cute that it is based in the city farm as that is also a treat to enjoy on your day. The cafe were a bit moody and not great at customer service but that is t actually part of the stained glass school so don’t count them in on your choice of whether to book a course with Coat Of Glass or not. Just maybe take packed lunches and only head to the cafe for hot drinks.
  The second time I visited We went as a group for a surprise birthday for my step mum. We all had a great day again. The choice of patterns and materials available is brilliant and more than you could have imagined.
  I definitely recommend you trying Coat Of Glass if this is your first session as Stephen is a great teacher and makes the whole learning process unstressful, easy going and fun.
  I will definitely be returning!

  I attended a 2 day workshop and loved every minute of it! Stephen was a great teacher - he made me feel at ease very quickly, was very encouraging and enthusiastic. The first day Stephen shows you through the various stages, step by step as you try it yourself on your own bit of work; and the second day he lets you create your own piece as independently as you like (whilst always being there to answer questions, rescue bad soldering etc). I love the stained glass I made, and loved learning a totally new skill. Thoroughly recommend. I'd love to learn to do Tiffany pieces now...I'll be back!
