  My favourite Kew glasshouse, small and perfectly formed, with an interesting collection of plants.

  If you are familiar with the big glasshouses at Kew, well the Davies Alpine House couldn't be more different. It is room-sized, strikingly modern in style and, rather than the steamy heat of the Palm House, it is designed to encourage a cool air flow - no fogged-up lenses here! The plants are presented beautifully and much of the display is constantly changing (many of the alpines are grown in pots), so there's always something lovely in flower.
  
  It is easily wheelchair-accessible and rarely crowded.

  Enjoyed myself a lot. . . Great flowers and plants, really nice colours. Well worth a visit.

  The Alpine House is in a beautiful, modern, glass building but it is still in keeping with the aesthetic of Kew Gardens. If you are interested in alpine plants then it is a must-see while you're at Kew Gardens. If you are not familiar with alpine plants, then make sure you stop by too - and be prepared for delicate, vibrant and truly stunning plants which you will want to start growing in your own garden.
