  I project managed our first HMO property in Crawley and came across RJH Builders when a firm installing Solar Panels told me the roof needed replacing. We had a deadline of 2 weeks in which to do it and someone recommended that I approach RJH Builders. This firm pulled out all the stops and got the job done in the short deadline and to a very high standard. I was so impressed with them that I took them on to build the two extensions and the refurbishment of the ground floor which needed gutting to the outer walls and completely re-configured and rebuilt
  
  Through this project the following is what I like about RJH Builders:
  
  1) Excellent Communication: Whenever I needed to contact them they were either available or returned the call within a short space of time. Also if they said that they would contact me about something they always did so within the time frame they had stated. I never had to chase them for answers.
  2) Workmanship: All the work they did was to a very high standard from the brickwork, to the carpentry to the plumbing, electrics, the lot. I was on site much of the time and saw the thoroughness with which they did all the work.
  3) Problem Solving: One particular asset was that when they came across a problem (eg some strange drain layout which could have meant having to redesign one of the extensions) they just sorted it. I only knew about it because I saw a new trench had been dug and enquired about it and Ricky explained that they had come across a problem found a solution did it and wasn't even going to mention it and was not going to charge any more than had been quoted even though it had clearly required quite a lot more work. This problem solving approach continued throughout the project.
  4) Knowledge: I valued being able to explain to RJH Builders what I wanted to achieve and not only did they provide solutions but they also alerted me to requirements that had escaped the architect's or building regulation's remit eg the necessity for ensuring we had a signed party wall agreement.
  5) Cost: The project was accurately costed and having had other quotes I felt it was very competitively priced. Furthermore, the detailed breakdown of cost into labour and materials allowed us to see where we could make savings (as we had special business deals with other firms). RJH Builders were happy for us to source some of the materials and they would provide the labour.
  6) Attitude: These projects can be fraught with difficulties and the unexpected. The last thing you want is people being unpleasant or moody. With RJH Builders, every workman that came on site was pleasant, flexible, jolly, and fun to work with. Even when I had to take one of my kids with me they were safety conscious, and really engaged well with the youngster who thereafter wanted to visit regularly.
  8) Reliability: I don't know how Ricky remembers all that we spoke about but whatever we discussed got done. If something did not work out, an alternative was found, and if something went wrong (and not much did) it got fixed and put right.
  
  After the initial project , I have done one further HMO with RJH Builders and experienced the same consistent strengths described above. My daughter too has worked on other projects with this firm and has also found them to be professional, as per her own review.
  
  In conclusion, I am a retired professional who has managed directorates in a large organisation employing hundreds of people. In my experience, finding people who are reliable, produce high quality work, and are good communicators are quite rare and worth keeping when you find them. I will definitely continue to use RJH Builders in my future projects.

  Have been working with RJH Builders for a couple of years now as we do various property refurbishments and conversions. We cannot recommend them enough!
  They are easy to work with, provide solutions not problems and are really hard-working. Their work is neat and tidy and if anything is ever not quite right, it is rectified swiftly and without fuss.
  Their quotes are not only fair, but are also really detailed which really helps when you are working to a budget.
  
  They really are honest, good guys and I will continue to use them for every project I have moving forward.
