  Words cannot express my devine gratitude with Traditional Roots Midwifery. To summarize my two birth experiences, I'd say Midwife Miss Rachel is pure magic.✨ I just had my third child under the care and assistance of Midwife Rachel. She also assisted with my second child on my previous pregnancy. I cannot express how wonderful both experiences were! The prenatal care is unlike any health care I've ever had. I feel so appreciative of her personalized care and home visits during both pregnancies. I knew my newest baby bean would have the most amazing and holistic experience the moment I found out I was expecting another just two years after my second son was born. Midwife Rachel and her colleagues are beyond kind and empathetic. They share this vibrant, beautiful energy that naturally will ease any discomfort or wild, silly pregnancy questions or inquiries. They posses such knowledge that every visit or call feels so warm and instantly reassuring. During the prenatal phase and postpartum pregnancy phase I was filled with so much solace and ease for myself and my baby. The postpartum phase of pregnancy is filled with healing and wellness through Midwife Rachel's tips and natural remedies, I know I recovered so quickly due to Midwife Rachel's teachings and years of intelligence and experiences. Midwife Rachel warmly counseled me through my first home birth of my newest bundle on May 7, 2022. I had my baby girl in such a calm setting, a dream of a relaxing natural water birth. I am forever thankful for her and her colleague Miss Mary. I will forever and always forward any expecting mommy to be towards the wonderful care of Midwife Rachel at Traditional Roots Midwifery. I hope to work with Midwife Rachel again for every future pregnancy, the best part of my most recent pregnancy were her kind visits and compassion. Midwife Rachel is truly a special woman and I'm so fortunate to have had two wonderful pregnancies and safe deliveries under her guidance and care. In short, the care and holistic experience one receives at Traditional Roots Midwifery is out of this world. I'm so, so thankful for the work she does! And we are all so blessed she's here to share all her wisdom and generosity with us new or seasoned mommies. Thank you again Midwife Rachel! You truly are a treasure of a woman! 💜🌹

  It is no understatement to say that my birth experience was the highlight of 2020. I am thankful everyday for Rachel— her experience, knowledge and passion for birth work is above and beyond.
  
  I made the decision to have a home birth and transfer my care to Traditional Roots Midwifery at 34 weeks pregnant. In that relatively short time, I got to know Rachel better than any care provider I’ve ever had. I was surprised that my husband and my mother (neither of whom had any prior experience or understanding of homebirth) supported my decision and trusted her as much as I did. Having my pre/postnatal appointments at home was so comfortable and allowed my family members to be involved in the process. Rachel provided excellent care, support, and guidance every step of the way. Also, her homemade herbal tea is amazing!🌸

  Rachel is an amazing midwife. She is very professional and cares deeply about all of her patients. I wanted to do a home birth and met with Rachel about my situation and she was supportive of my choices. Rachel is always quick to respond and was ready when I went into labor with my son. She came to the house and ensured everything went smoothly while supporting me during the labor and delivery. She was always a phone call away during my first few weeks postpartum and was happy to answer any questions.
  
  I knew from the moment we chose to work together that it was going to be an amazing experience. I had the perfect home birth thanks to Rachel. Thank you Rachel for all you do for women in our community. You provide experience, wisdom, research, peace, and calm support. You empower women to be confident in the strong innate power of their bodies. You love every mother and family you encounter and it shows. Alaskans are lucky to have such a great home birth midwife available!

  Rachel is amazing! She is knowledgeable, calm, supportive, natural-minded, and passionate. Every question or concern that came up during our prenatal sessions was discussed thoroughly until we felt comfortable. Rachel went above and beyond many times during my pregnancy and postpartum time by listening to my concerns and offering support and information, checking in to see how things were going, providing referrals when needed and just being a friendly, caring face when I needed it. I had a beautiful, empowered pregnancy and home birth thanks to all of the information and education Rachel provided and her one-on-one attention and support. I will forever be grateful to have worked with her!

  I can, with confidence, say that Rachel Pugh is the best and most knowledgeable midwife in Alaska. Throughout my pregnancy, my prenatal appointments were very personalized, comfortable and informative. Everything I know about birth, babies and pregnancy I learned from Rachel. She is a fountain of useful knowledge that I find myself passing on to those around me, to this day.
  
  As a first time mother, Rachel was there for me and my family in every sense possible. Anxieties were soothed, leaving me feeling powerful and ready for birthing my daughter.
  Every health issue that surfaced was dealt with immediately and with such professionalism and accuracy. I feel like a healthier person in general from following the treatments and regimens prescribed by Rachel.
  
  Rachel holds prenatal groups and postpartum groups, where I met lifetime friends and had genuine fun while learning important aspects of my own care. I continue looking forward to these appointments to this day.
