Guitar by Kevin

I’ve been playing for years, but never bothered with theory or exercises. After I was fed up playing the same things over and over, Kevin opened my world after our first few lessons. He was patient, focused, and always stopped to answer all of my questions. I walked away with (a) a conceptual understanding of the theory behind my favorite music, (b) a better handle on scales, and (c) written materials/exercises to take with me. Plus, he SHREDS!

I have been playing live music and being involved with developing musicians. However, i was never a lead player. I called around to other teachers, but it was always the same story. Caged system and I'll teach songs, but no one wanted was able to describe my playing frustration until kevin answered his phone. I was sold the first 10 minutes when you started to explain to me the holes i was missing and how we would explore these deeper. After an intensive interrogation of Kevin's knowledge, i started lessons. It's been awesome. The growth I've had in a short time is unmeasurable. The juxtaposition of notes are in my head and becoming second nature to fretboard fluidity. Doesnt matter if you're new or wanting to find techniques this man will guide you in a clear defined path tailored just for you!! 10/10 recommended

If you're looking into guitar lessons then look no further than this. Kevin is by far one of the best music teachers I have ever had. I went to school to acquire a BFA in Musical Theater performance and I have been playing and singing music since I was about four. I can play multiple instruments effectively and have performed in front of live audiences using those talents. I have also performed professionally on stage under contract. That being said I always resented music teachers because I always felt like I already knew what they were teaching me. Which in most cases is true. That sounds arrogant and maybe in a way it is however that is my experience. I went to college and took three piano classes and can confidently say everything I learned I already knew or it wasn't far from my skill set. I'm self taught mostly and I have a natural talent for music and instruments. My first Lesson with Kevin was incredibly helpful and new. He explained things in a way that I understood and showed me little tips and tricks for becoming a better electric guitar player. He uses music theory to justify what he does on the guitar which is an incredibly efficient way to teach in my opinion. It makes it so you know exactly what you're playing and when to play in certain instances using different techniques. He provides worksheets with directions on how to play something exactly. He also corrects minor mistakes every time so bad habits do not form. He answers all the questions I have had and he even will go the extra mile in explaining something so there are no "knowledge holes" as he calls them. I am definitely a beginner electric guitar player however with this kind of teaching I have no doubt that I will get better consistently. If you're looking for an electric guitar teacher who has experience and serious skills Kevin is the man for the job. You definitely get what you pay for.

Kevin is a fantastic guitar teacher and I have learned so much in just the few lessons I have taken so far. I have taken lessons from other guitar teachers who followed a cookie cutter routine and never seemed to really listen to what I wanted to play and learn. That is not the case with Kevin, who asked me to think of genres that I was interested in before we even met for the first time. Each lesson seems individualized to me specifically and not just the next page from a book. I look forward to the lessons each week and am excited to continue on this adventure.

I genuinely couldn't have picked a better guitar teacher! Kevin's one on one teaching style is so informative and fun. He alters his lessons to go at the best pace for me in order for me to learn the things I need to learn. I've only gone to 3 lessons so far and im already playing songs and learning things I didn't know I would be able to learn yet. He truly makes playing and learning guitar a very educative, enjoyable, and exciting journey!!!
