Iditarod Trailside Lodgings

Four of us fatbiked in from Deshka Landing, probably the most challenging way to arrive... The conditions were slow (due to a recent snow) and we got in later than expected. We were welcomed with a wonderful filling meal, great hospitality and a warm private cabin. We wanted an early breakfast and it was ready for us with more food than four hungry guys could eat. I can’t wait to go back! We were well rested and the ride back was 2.5 hours quicker! I only wish we had more time to spend at the lodge. All the conveniences from home in a remote location! A real Alaskan experience!

We spent three nights at Iditarod Trailside Lodging this December helping my son find a moose for a winter youth hunt. To get to the Lodge, we rode our snow machines ~40 miles up the Yentna River. Craig and Debbie were excellent hosts, sparing no detail from the food prep, to the room accommodations to the trail markings to the cabins. They even met us on the river in the dark to show us the way the last couple of miles. The Lodge is more like a home, with room for our group to relax, play games and enjoy meals and conversation together. The dry cabins are basic, but cozy and clean with power, linens and heat. There was even a wood-stove sauna to relax and take the chill off at night. Even if we had not found a moose the weekend would have been a great success. We will definitely come back again!
