Okamoto's Karate

Lynken is very happy at the Wasilla dojo. His Senpai Fred Manzano has played a huge role in helping him be successful at reaching his goals. He’s a great kid and academically he gets excellent grades in school but he needed to change his attitude towards himself. His school teacher also noticed how hard he is on himself when he doesn’t get it right the first time. To no surprise, he showed that in karate when he first started. His Senpai helped him change his attitude, he has learned to be more patient, and that it is ok to make mistakes so you can learn and do better next time. As parents we do our best at home, but having a great influence outside of home has been awesome! Fred is great at communicating with the parents, he truly cares about helping them in any way he can. He is a no nonsense mentor which I really appreciate, but at the same time he is fun and shows he really cares about his students. Lynken tells me what happens in class, we don’t even have to ask..so we know he’s very happy there. He will be testing for his Orange belt next week, so thank you Okamoto Karate for giving Lynken this great experience!

I highly recommend bringing your kid or kids here. My daughter has excelled in this program in only 4 months. The staff is great, understanding, patience and kind. It took awhile for my daughter to find something she’s passionate about and she fell in love with karate with just the 30 minute introductory appointment. And has loved it every second.

My children enjoy coming here every week. Senpai Fred provides well-structured, challenging and yet fun classes for the students. I like the flexibility in scheduling and the friendly atmosphere. An excellent place for students to learn and grow — I thoroughly recommend!

Our shy son (5 yrs) is enjoying his coaching and experience at Okamoto’s very much. He feels comfortable in the dojo and enjoys the instructor’s interactions. Fred is a very kind and caring person who remembers the children’s names and takes time to recognize their efforts. I’m very pleased to have my son in such a great environment that helps him grow as an individual. Well worth the money!
