My wife and I visited Alaska, in April, 2022, for our 25th anniversary and took a dogsled ride at Alaskan Husky Adventures. It was an awesome experience and a highlight of our trip...I even got to "steer" the trailing sled. Our musher was great and the dogs were even better...sorry. Being out on the trail, feeling the movement of the sled, the wind on my face and watching the dogs run, struck something deep inside of me...it was exciting and very peaceful at the same time. We will definitely visit Alaskan Husky Adventures should we find ourselves in Alaska again.

Worth the scenic drive from Anchorage, AK. Liz was a friendly informative tour guide. Jaren was our sled guide and very friendly and informative, too. The dogs are very friendly and adorable! Got to play with some of the sled dogs. So cute! The sled ride itself was thrilling! Great family fun! It's right on the way to Danali National Park, so it would make a great stop on the way. You'll have to make reservations ahead of time online. I suggest that you wear a waterproof jacket and rain pants if it's rainy or bring a change of pants. It's about a 2 hour tour, so leave enough time in your plans for this awesome adventure!

Planned a morning Sled tour on our way up to Denali. As soon as you pull up, you can feel the excitement from about 50 dogs. Liz and Matt quickly and warmly greeted us. The tour started with great information about the dogs, Iditarod, their background, and the overall tour experience. Once the informational session was complete, we headed out to meet the dogs and this was a very exhilarating experience. You can't describe the pure energy and excitement as the dogs knew they were going out for a run. I wish I could've done enough tours to give every dog a chance to run that morning.

The ride was an amazing experience. It was a great combination of educational, fun, thrilling, and inspirational. Matt and Liz are very passionate about the dogs and sharing it with their guests. I did so many tours while in Alaska, but this was one of my favorite. I am already planning a winter visit for a sled tour in the snow. Highly recommend this tour and supporting Matt and Liz.

As soon as I drove onto the property I was greeted by Liz’s smiling face and the howling of excited dogs all around! This was a spectacular experience that went well beyond my expectations. It was amazing to see the passion Liz and Matt have their dogs and their love for mushing. They could easily talk to you all day long telling you about the sport their team. After an extremely fun trail ride pulled by the dogs the whole way Matt amazed us with his sled and stories of his past races. Make sure to ask Matt for directions back to Anchorage is you’re staying there as he directed us through the gorgeous Alaskan mountains that is well worth the drive!

Dog sledding is a MUST for any Alaska trip, and the experience at Alaskan Husky Adventures did not disappoint! Liz and her staff were excellent hosts, and we enjoyed a beautiful winter sled ride on a sunny day (we even saw Denali!). I highly recommend their business! The passion for the dogs and the thoughtfulness to their development and care is very clear. Any time I talk to someone who doesn't understand dog sledding or why dogs would want to be outside in the cold, I tell them to visit a dog kennel in Alaska! This was my third winter trip to Alaska to see the start of the Iditarod race, and I have never seen happier dogs in my life than when they're getting ready to go out on the trail. It is truly their calling, and the wonderful people that devote their lives to the dogs deserve all the respect in the world. Kudos to Matt and Liz for following their passion, creating this wonderful opportunity to share their dogs with the public, and for all their hard work out on the trail. FYI – If you’re a first-time visitor to Alaska, it's an easy drive from Anchorage to reach their kennel, and if you’re lucky, there’s some beautiful views of Denali from the property. At the end of the ride, you can warm up with some hot cocoa and ask more questions about the dogs. With Liz's background in News, maybe someday they'll even have an educational video to explain the basics of dog mushing to first-time visitors! (As an animal lover, I'm unreasonably excited about informational talks!) All-in-all, an incredible experience. Everyone in my family enjoyed the adventure.
