I visited some years ago and had a wonderful experience! Great training, very nice, welcoming people. I highly recommend checking out this dojo if you have an interest in martial arts.
My advice to anyone seriously interested in learning Aikido, get with this group. They are extremely knowledgeable, skillfully, and caring people. I cannot give them enough praise for their patience when training, and for their genuine concern with my "getting it". I love this wonderful art. They are the reason why.
I have over 40 years of training and experience in a variety of martial arts and hold advanced or master instructor ranks in four of them. I have visited The Renshinkan on a few occasions and found the instructors to be professional, very skilled, and excellent at communicating what they know.
An amazing dojo to learn principles that may take you a lifetime to perfect but will most definitely humble you and change your journey.
I trained at Renshinkan (formerly Jiyushinkan) for almost ten years in the 2000s. I'm still a member of Jiyushinkai and every time I'm in Arizona I stop by the Renshinkan to get some good training in. I've trained at various Judo dojos and other martial arts in the past decade, but nothing compares to the Jiyushinkai.
Two aspects of the training that I particular appreciate are the focus on effective technique rather than learning how to score points in a competition, and the safety of their training. Renshinkan in particular is lucky to have some very senior teachers who have been training in Jiyushinkai for decades.
