Students have a chance to get their diploma as well as a job trade. Awesome if that's something they wish for. My experience has been very positive. I haven't witnessed anything negative. Actually I witnessed my granddaughters excited about the programs and support. I have been communicating on a frequent basis and I am pleased because of help and assistance I'm receiving. Thank you, I strongly recommend if anyone is behind in school. This school cares about your diploma and success. Also, providing you with a career which would be life-saving in itself. I had such a warm welcoming and I can't say that about others whom I thought were interested in their education. Thank you ❤️😊

Me: Teacher w/ CCS - Tech for three months at the time of this review.

Tech is a school. Here, students come to learn what the state says they need to know. The condensed schedule and an opportunity to take extra classes mean that those who are ready to move on with life can do well and graduate quickly.

Tech also has the rare advantage of offering real-world electives. In the same building, there is a cosmetology school (hair clients welcome), a CNA (nursing) program, and starting in January, electrician courses. These are the adult courses (CNA with adults from the community) that lead to certification and are offered free (~$40 for cosmetology) to enrolled high school students. Some schools give underwater basket weaving; we want our students to be able to get a job without having to go to school again.

The school also has a built-in day-care for students with kids. It costs $5 a week and the students get a class period to learn about development and play with their kid.

The school also partners with the local CC and universities so that students who want to continue their learning can get their first year of college while earning their senior high credits.

The school also has an online division attached. If someone had to go to work to help out the family for a semester or whatever we can seamlessly transfer them online then back again when they can return to in-person classes. Fridays are also optional for Juniors and Seniors giving them a free day to work or pursue their own passions.

I've never seen a school that does more to help every teenager make the transition into adulthood.

And, like many schools, it's a product of its neighborhood.

Gangs - There are gang members here. We're not going to throw someone out who wants to learn about a different life. Why would we? The ones who aren't mature enough to be with normal people don't last long.

Violence - WEAPONS seriously? Dear readers: If you see a weapon or hear something credible leave class and tell someone. Nobody knew about the weapon at the start of the day. Now that you do, let the rest of us know so we can all be safe. - Fighting: nothing special. One on one, both parties wanting it. When one happened on campus it was quickly broken up. Teen drama. People aren't getting jumped and I've seen students walk away without anything happening. A little time and perspective solve all drama based problems. Fear relies on secrets and silence. Staff calms things down when they see and hear. Bringing things into the open makes everyone safer.

Drugs - Not really a problem in my experience here. This isn't a prison. There are no pat downs and staff doesn't try to listen in on what people are saying. If you something, tell someone. Drug culture relies on secrets while openness leads to safe and healthy individuals. Dealers are turned over to Phoenix PD (I haven't seen one), we seek to help users find treatment.

I would recommend this campus as a good place for students to get ready for the real world.

Ghetto, indeed. I like the classes though, I enjoy how short the days are, you get out at 3 PM, and don't have to be in class until 8:30 AM. A lot of the teachers are great. None of the teachers do drugs, I mean, c'mon, the average person knows jobs drug test. If you go here, be VERY cautious of who you choose to befriend. Trust no one, focus on your grades.

My first high school. A lot of people think is ghetto... It is but you get use to it and have good teacher and you graduate faster there.
But ere are a lot of fights.
