Dollar Rent A Car

After seeing so many negative reviews for Dollar, I was nervous. Long lines, excessive fees, bad service. I had already booked an SUV for spring break to drive across states, and wasn't sure what to expect.

We arrived at the Phoenix airport early on a Tuesday morning, and there was hardly a line at all. We were helped within 5 minutes, declined Dollar's insurance because we had our own, and opted to fill the tank ourselves at drop-off. We borrowed a Chevy Equinox that suited us perfectly.

We dropped off the car with no problems in Texas. When we were finally charged, it was exactly what we expected to pay. No hidden fees or charges. No fuss.

While I understand that negative scenarios happen a lot, especially in industries like this, I wanted to share my positive experience so others can hear both sides. If the price is right, we wouldn't hesitate to use Dollar again the next time we're in the Phoenix area.

We flew from Washington State to Phoenix Arizona and were greeted by a hour and a half wait time before we got our car. The people working there were very polite and very kind so I'm not going to knock them for something that they had no control over. They were just as frustrated over the situation as everybody else was but kept their composure and did the best they could.

Dollar Car was very good to us. The plane landed right before they closed and they helped us right away. Picking up and dropping off were both smooth and easy. They allowed me to pick the vehicle I wanted which was great and they provided itemized receipts every step of the way. There was an extra $200 pending charge on my account for the duration of the rental, something to consider when budgeting.
