Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport

The airport terminal has walkways so long that you can actually do walking exercise. Along the walk you can see the landscape outside with the views of Phoenix and it's surroundings, through large glass windows. It is very nice to spend a transit time in this Airport.

I usually always sit at the bar, however bar was full and I could not have been happier. My server Elaine was so attentive and had the best positive attitude. She is a breath of fresh air! Even went out of her way to let her employees know how nicely their guests were talking about them. If I go back I'm sitting wherever elaine is serving!

This airport is perfect for those trying to get in and out of Phoenix, but not too keen on showing up 2 hours early. The security lines are no overwhelming. I usually show up about 1.5 hours early for a flight because I’m just used to being early. However, for a domestic flight I can show up an hour early and still get through security and to my gate in time. There are plenty of restaurants open as long as you are not riding a red-Eye. Prices are not crazy either. There is a cell phone lot nearby where you can wait until you are called. When picking someone up I advise that you get there terminal and door number they are waiting at. Depending on the terminal they may also have to tell you if they are waiting on the north or south side. Terminal 2 does not have a north or south. But 3 and 4 do. It can get a little confusing. Parking at the airport is reasonable, but I usually pay for parking at a nearby hotel and take the shuttle to the airport. It’s cheaper.

I love this airport. If you have a layover or time to kill there is so much to look at and walk around to see. I seem to always find a new airline I have only heard of a couple times parked outside. They are working on a new train to run from the rental car lot to the terminals so you don't have to bus over any further. Plus phoenix itself is a great city!
