  If you’re reading this review, you’re probably wondering if it’s worth your time to reach out to Alice Barton. I was drawn to her for her strengths-based approach to therapy. I stayed because, honestly, I never look forward to a session... but that’s a good thing! Alice is grounded in her research, experience, understanding, and empathy for people who have gone through exceptionally difficult circumstances. I was so afraid of accessing any emotional part of myself until Alice provided a framework to understand my experience and my growth opportunities today. She is the Mary Poppins of solutions, often pulling out references to other research or tools I can use today. She’s got a big heart and an informed mind, but she’s no pushover! She knows all the rabbit holes we dive down to avoid the truth. As hard as it’s been for me to trust anyone with the load of pain I carry, I have learned that trusting the process truly makes a difference. It may be hard to trust a stranger, a professional in the cycles and dynamics of dysfunction, with all your current and past experiences. There are times doing that isn’t a good or safe idea! But after many sessions I trust that opening my heart to Alice’s insight does lead to growth and healing. She’s a medical professional worth trusting. Take the plunge!
