Came out to enjoy a ride to celebrate 8 years together. Our wrangler PAM was AMAZING. We definitely enjoyed her company and we will definitely be coming back soon. We live far from here but Pam and friends here at cavecreek outfitters made it worth it. & special thanks to Cole, Remy, & Billy for the ride
They are very laid back people. They talk with you a bit and then select your horse. We took our 13 year old and all 3 of us had a wonderful time!! Was a very quite amd peaceful ride. Horses were amazing. Made us feel like we were pros!!!!
Phenomenal! After getting lost and missing my first appointment, the staff were able to get me in the next day and were so kind about it. We arrived right on time the next day (being on time is important because the heat only allows for a small window of safe riding for the horses), were checked in and given two bottles of ice cold water. They instruct you on proper mounting and then you're off into the national park area. It's absolutely gorgeous and quiet. Anyone from the city will fall in love immediately. The ride is smooth and the horses are well trained, although they love to try and sneak bites of grass as you ride, which I loved. It gets VERY hot as the sun rises, so definitely bring a hat, wear sunscreen and dress for the weather. The bugs will also be waiting to eat you alive, so utilize whatever repellent, citronella ect you have as long as it won't irritate the horses.
We opted for the one hour morning ride. First time on a horse for our 7 year old twins and they had a blast. Been awhile for for mom and dad, too. We went at 8 am on August 27, 2021, normally a very hot time, so we figured going early was best.
Our wrangler, Nicole, I believe, was awesome. She was knowledgeable, friendly, engaging, and clearly loves doing this. It made the one hour and almost 20 minute ride super enjoyable. We were out quite a bit longer than the one hour, but it still went too fast. The recent rains made the desert explode with grass and green plants everywhere. It’s normally not like that and that also was nice.
We’ll be back in the late fall for a longer ride and lunch there.
For the money, it was absolutely worth every penny!!
Rick is a great guy, awesome horses and excellent price. We started of with an an quick yet informative lesson then a nice slow ride around the desert where Rick explained the landscape. Horses were well tempered and Rick supplied great conversations. Highly recommend!
