Nice place to stay but we like to bike and hike and there are only camping roads to do that. Camping spaces are fantastic, long drive and they include an extra spot to park a boat or car.
Would only go back as a rest stop and not spend a week. Summer stop not good place for us snow birds.

We stayed here for several nights while making our way across Texas. We timed our arrival so we got there only 10 minutes prior to the reportedly strict 3pm check-in time, and lined up behind two other RVs. But the gate staff did start letting us in just a few minutes after we arrived.

Just past the entrance gate, you either turn right to get to the western set of loops (loops 3 through 6) or left to get to the two eastern loops (loops 1 and 2 ). We stayed in site 39 in loop 2, an end site on the inner side of that loop. All of the sites in loop 2 are driver-side back-in sites, with asphalt pads, charcoal-ready BBQ grills, fire pits, and covered picnic tables. Our site was level and more than long enough for both our 21-foot truck and 37-foot fifth wheel, but each site pad is wider at the front to allow vehicle parking next to the pad. If you need more parking than that, there’s a small parking lot on the west end of the loop. The water and electric hookups are near the back of the site. The sites on our side of the loop were spaced out a bit more than those on the lake side of the loop, but all of them are still what I would consider spacious. The outer edge of the loop road is lined with wooden pylons, so if you don’t want to deal with those while backing in, pick a site on the inner loop. Most of the sites on this loop are unshaded: loop 1 has more trees.

The campground is very quiet (no road noise) and is quite dark at night, with the only lighting provided by the nearby boat dock and the bathhouse. The bathhouse is clean and stylish, with the shower and bathroom stalls walled with thick stained barn wood, but the interior lighting is a bit dim: your eyes might need a moment to adjust if you’re coming in from a bright sunny day. There were three dumpsters on one corner of the loop. Loops 1 and 2 share a dump station located near the entrance to loop 1. I occasionally spotted deer during the overnight and pre-dawn hours, but they stayed away during the day. While there is no enclosed dog park, there was plenty of places to walk our dog.

In terms of cell service, the best speed I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna was 6 Mbps down and 11 up, so I was able to work remotely and we were able to stream video with occasional buffering. The one speed test I ran on my 5G AT&T smartphone showed 31Mbps down and 3 up. As you might expect, there is no campground WiFi.

We enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Great park. Quiet boat ramp for park residents with ample parking. Very strict on check in times and when the gate closes at night there is no re-entry until 9am when the park reopens. Bathrooms were nice and showers were spacious and was hot. My site #57 had electricity (30/50/15amp), water, covered picnic table, fire ring and charcoal grill. If you don't have a boat there is plenty of places for shore fishing.

We had such a great time here. It is a mix of RVs and tents, mostly RVs. Each spot has electricity, water, a grill, a covered picnic table and fire ring. The bathrooms were very nice and clean with showers too. Even being in close proximity to everyone else, everyone was super respectful and pretty quiet. We stayed a little further away from the lake and we had great shade. Spots closer to the lake have no shade at all. This feels like it little hidden gem and I can't wait to come back!

Beautiful and well maintained park by the core of engineers . Very quiet and plenty of room between sites. Bath house was spotless, could use some work , specially doors , volunteer staff super friendly and helpful.
Just wished that the cancelation fee was higher so people will actually cancel their reservations to free up spaces. We wanted to stay longer and the website showed them reserved but no one there for days.

This is a really nice, clean (but older) 55-year-and-over RV park. It appears that many of the tenants are long-term but they do accept overnighters, like us!
The facility is large (300 spaces or so) and has swimming pool, pickle ball courts, billiards, fitness center and more. Only negatives... 1) They don't accept credit cards 2) No pull thrus unless you purchase 2 spaces 3) Not many shade trees for a very hot location 4) The hookups are at the back corner of your space. We are in a small, Class C and are pulling a motorcycle trailer. Our long electrical and water lines could just barely, barely reach. 5) Our Space 285 was nearest to busy Duval Mine Road and it was a little noisy. 6) Wifi Internet is only available at 2 building locations (not available at your RV space).
BUT, despite the "complaint" list, we would definitely return. For us, none of these issues were deal breakers. It is a safe environment in a very clean, peaceful park staffed by helpful, friendly people.
