Visited Saguaro West today. Very nice stands of Arizona poppies over Gates Pass. Rain has really greened up the desert.
Inside Saguaro National Park and it is gorgeous! Good place to stop for souvenirs and trail guides. Bathrooms are also surprisingly clean and nicer than most. Only reason it doesn't get five stars is because it is CRAZY hard to get to. We spent over an hour trying to figure out how to get here. Research beforehand how to get here, because signs directing you to this visitor center are practically non-existent they way we came-luckily Google maps came to our rescue!
Very nice store. Very clean and organized. Mark is professional and courteous.
Really pleasant shopping experience. Everything you need to make your visit to the Saguaro National Park as enjoyable as possible. In addition, you can also score some Zapotec merchandise.
It's well worth stopping and chatting with the Rangers, I got really excellent ideas for how to hike to Wasson Peak, and good sunrise/sunset spots, they're very knowledgeable... They have one of the most amazing gift shops I've seen at a National Park, at the time of my visit, closed on Tues + Wed... The only water available in the park is here... and, this is where you go to pay your entrance fee, there are no collection booths... They operate on the Honor System, so don't forget to support the lands!!
