(November 4, 2018, 10:53 am)Absolutely outstanding museum! The sinking of the Sultana was the worst maritime disaster in our country's history. My ancestor, Private Daniel Walker (pictured here) who fought with the 3rd Tennessee Union Cavalry, was aboard when it exploded (his body was never recovered). I was amazed at the collection of relics as well as the quality of the exhibits. The exhibits detail not only the disaster but the history of the steamer. This is truly a hidden Arkansas gem and well worth the drive to Marion.
