My daughter took violin lessons with Kaila for about two years when she was 6-8. Kaila is a warm, fun, and dedicated teacher who helped my daughter become proficient with the instrument rather quickly. Kaila doesn't focus solely on technique but helps her students understand music as whole by writing songs, teaching notation, and performing.
Learning to play a musical instrument is a long process that requires constant practice... so my daughter sadly began to lose interest in the process as she began to advance in pieces and technique that required longer practice times. She is now playing violin with her school's music program and hasn't made ANY progress (in fact I think she is actually getting worse) than during her time with Kaila. I secretly hope that she will ask to go back to Kaila at some point in the future... I'd sign her up in a second.
