  This our first time at Musubi Hawaiian BBQ in the past it use to be Golden Brown Chicken and then a Chinese BBQ restaurant but now it's called Musubi Hawaiian BBQ. The food is really good.

  Musubi Hawaiian BBQ is an interesting restaurant.
  
  Originally, it was Golden Brown Chicken and then it switched over to Roadhouse BBQ Express before reopening as Musubi.
  
  The interior design looks exactly the same as the prior two locations and it even features the same television menu and layout. The main difference is the menu that they are using.
  
  With Golden Brown, they used chicken with lots of Asian and American influence. With Roadhouse, they had some BBQ, but customers were irate as they still had the traditional Asian menu rather than a menu similar to other BBQ restaurants. With Musubi, they still have a similar Asian menu, but they add a small spin by adding Hawaiian dishes as well.
  
  I got the chicken mix combination which contained a good amount of food. It had BBQ chicken, chicken katsu, rice, some lightly cooked cabbage, and some type of potato salad. For the chicken, they were done well. It was moist and had a seasoned taste to it as well. I was able to bite through it easily and didn't need a knife -- though it would have been easier if I were to cut it into pieces. The katsu was done well since it was crunchy while the inside chicken was still moist. The katsu came with a sauce that seemed like sweet and sour, but I didn't prefer it though I know some people might like it. The rice was dry and hard though -- which was sad since I received a bit of it. The potato salad was okay -- nothing special. The cabbage was disappointing since it seemed like it was lightly cooked and was an afterthought below the meat.
  
  With the amount of food given and proximity to my house, I wouldn't mind going again; however, I don't think I would drive there specifically unless I was craving it.

  It's pretty much the same staff and layout as when it was Golden Fried Chicken. Only real difference is that they've changed the menu to be more Hawaiian style food, which I welcome since we don't really have one in this area anymore. I tried several of their musubis including the regular spam one and the beef one. I thought they tasted pretty good, though I wish it was $2 not $2.50, since that's a little pricey for one musubi. In any case, I'll be sure to try more things on the menu. One tip: you can go to their website and order online, which is nice if you're just taking it to go.

  I just enjoyed a late lunch/early dinner at Alhambra’s newest Hawaiian restaurant, Musubi Hawaiian BBQ located on Fremont Ave at the 10 fwy. I ordered the Spicy Garlic Chicken and was NOT disappointed!! They stir fry their entrees to order as evidenced by the wonderful fresh garlic smell coming from the kitchen. The entrees are served Hawaiian style with rice and potato macaroni salad. The entrees are also Hawaiian style in that they are very large portions, very satisfying. BUT, for me, the real find at Musubi Hawaiian BBQ was the Grilled Salmon Musubi, you read that right, Grilled Salmon Musubi. For those of you who enjoy Spam Musubi but sometimes find it a bit on the salty side, the Grilled Salmon Musubi is the perfect cure. Can hardly wait to try some of the other dishes on their menu, such as their combination plates that come with the usual rice and Macaroni salad plus veggies.
