I just participated in a Taize service via Zoom. This is a beautiful devotional service for Advent. It was a peaceful retreat from our crazy world, and a reminder that we should "be still and know that I am God."
I find the Bible centered services important to my faith. There are many opportunities to participate and serve, and a real warmth and love from many people. Not everyone is super warm and loving all the time (like me) because I am a super introvert. But I love Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Church Review
I have been a member of OSLC for over fifty years. I look forward to attending every Sunday and learning how God wants me to live and how He forgives me when I don’t. Each Sunday has a theme woven into the sermon, prayers and music. I get a good lesson that is based in the Bible and is presented in a way that I can understand. It is a friendly church and we have several member get togethers each year as well as the usual celebrations such as Christmas and Easter.
I have been a long time member here & speak the praises of OSLC from experience. You will feel the love of God, as you'll hear the pure word of the Bible preached. Likewise, the love & fellowship from it's members is constant & uplifting.
Our Savior Lutheran Church, through Pastor Demel, delivers sermons that are educational and good points for daily living. The congregation is friendly and involved with others and the community as well as responsive to those in need. It is an organized church with many relevant programs. It has a beautiful, clean, newly updated campus with areas to commune inside and out under gorgeous large trees. People of all demographics and nationalities are always welcome!
I grew up in Milford , Nebraska near Davenport..(Seward County). I went to my Uncle and Aunt''s Farm in Alexandria every summer to help my Aunt to feed the Thershers. Pastor mentioned today that his first church was in Davenport. (small World) We enjoyed the service today and are looking forward to the future with our new Pastor.! Mitzi Moore (Tom Moore)
