Great small park. Lots of room for small and big kids. Easy access to river for biking or running. Lots of shade. Bathrooms available. Swings and jungle gyms with slides.
I have been coming to this park for a year from this date of this review so I hope this is a well balanced review.
QUICK REVIEW: This park is perfect to read a book, bring your dog (leashed), bring your kids (ages 3-14), relax with nature, and enjoy the small single-jet airplanes that take off/land on the San Gabriel Airport runway across Rio Hondo. Random dirt piles on the large grass area and ill-maintence on the path behind the elementary school are the only down sides to this park which isn't a deal breaker to me.

EXTENSIVE REVIEW:
I love this park and visit almost weekly with my dog. It is dog friendly (leashed), has a large grass area, two playground sections, tree/shade covered tables, and is across the way from an active airport where you can see small planes taking off/landing constantly from San Gabriel Valley Airport. There is access to the pathway alongside the Rio Hondo which connects to Whitter Narrows and continues to Long Beach.
Maintenance is done about once a week where they trim the grass and clean up the area. The maintenance crew does a decent job cleaning the area with minimal to no trash in the vicinity although there is usually small dirt piles in the mid section of the grass area which appear randomly.
When you arrive in the morning (7am-10am) there is ample shade from the trees on the outskirts of the grass area with occasionally a small number of people walking laps along the sidewalk, followed by hearing/seeing planes take off from the San Gabriel Valley Airport across Rio Hondo.
Only reason why I rated this park as 4/5 stars is that the walkway behind the elementary school is NOT maintained well and is a common walkway from Bisby St and you can occasionally slip on the debris on the sidewalk there. The random small dirt piles on the grass area also bring down the score a bit, otherwise this is a beautiful park that I'd recommend to anyone near the area to visit! ♡
They opened the rr for the day it was a fun day. Loved the facted that we could use the riverbed to play as well.
