She's very friendly and works hard to make you feel comfortable, which is good, because electrolysis hurts a lot no matter where you go.

I had my first session with Janet yesterday. She is amazing. To begin with she is one of only two electrolysis salons in Los Angeles that agreed last year to start the process to become certified as a service provider though the VA's Care in the Community program in order to provide permanent hair removal for transgender veterans. In 2018 the VA drafted a directive claiming to provide pre and post surgical services and procedures including electrolysis for transgender veterans. However, when I attempted to get these services I found that these services were not available because the VA in Los Angeles had not secured any providors. When I contacted the VA and asked them to do this they told me they would not. So I started the journey of cold calling as many electrolysis providers as I could in the Los Angeles area and beyond. I asked them if they would go through the application process to be a service provider through the VA. Janet jumped right on board and it took a long time with lots of coordination. But she didn't give up. So yesterday was my first appointment and to the best of my knowledge the first time on a National level that these services have been provided to a transgender veteran. Yay. Along with being dedicated to providing services to veterans she proved to be fast, through and professional. I can't wait to go again and I look forward to referring other transgender veterans to her and providing feedback together with her to the VA so that the process followed can serve as a road map for other VA offices across the country. I’ve been going to Janet for over a year now, getting electrolysis done on my upper lip/eyebrow.
I’ve definitely been seeing great results, and will continue to go once a month. I initially used to go every two weeks before sessions with her.
Janet is super kind and professional. Always in a good mood, and flexible with scheduling. I’m very sensitive to pain, and she makes sure to adjust the technique and modality to make my experience as comfortable as possible.
