(June 20, 2019, 3:46 pm)My husband accidentally donated some hockey sticks that were his son's. His son was killed many years ago, so this was a very big deal to us. We contacted the corporate offices of Goodwill in Long Beach, and were simply amazed at the level of care, concern and effort put forward by many, many people. The floor distribution staff was notified, searched for the sticks for several days with no luck. We had all rather given up hope. A week later, we were contacted, sent a photo, and asked if these were our sticks. They were! It was an amazing, caring effort. Picking them up at the corporate offices, I walked through the distribution center which made me realize what a huge effort this was. Goodwill also dedicates funds to job training programs, including certified nursing assistant programs, security training, and more. So much more than a retail resale organization, your donations are being used for the power of good. These people are amazing. Our heartfelt thanks.
