You’ve heard the expression “Luck is when preparation meets opportunity”? If you take classes at Scott Sedita Acting Studios you WILL BE PREPARED!! It begins with his thorough knowledge of the business to his passion and true commitment to actors. I highly recommend reading his books, Scott Sedita’s Guide to Making It In Hollywood and The Eight Characters of Comedy AND downloading his Actor’s Audition App. Nothing compares to being in the room (or in the zoom!) with him and getting his individualized attention. He gives his honest take on your work with encouragement and keeps after you to be your best. What more could you ask for as an actor?

I came to Scott Sedita's on a recommendation from my previous acting teacher in Australia who said that comedy would help with my acting. It's been almost a year now since I started attending the studio and I can already feel the tremendous growth I've experienced.

I started out taking the One Day Comedy Intensive which uses Scott's book, "The Eight Characters of Comedy." Many others have noted that even if you don't take the classes, reading the book alone is quite valuable which I completely agree with. The first part of the book focuses on the sitcom joke structure and what makes them funny, as well as establishing the importance of rhythm in sitcom scripts and the tools you can play with to bring out those laughs. The second part delves into the eight titular characters and is useful for both actors and writers. Although the whole book is interesting, reading about the eight characters was so captivating, it made me start analyzing what kind of characters my friends and family are! The One Day Comedy Intensive takes the lessons you learned and puts them into practice. A few scripts are also worked on that give you a tease of what it's like in the Sitcom Acting Technique class with Tony Rago (which I understand you get to attend one free class now that classes are on Zoom). Overall, I found the intensive to be very eye opening and a great learning opportunity.

I started taking the Sitcom Acting Technique class just as the quarantine started so my experience has been purely online. At first I was concerned that I wouldn't be learning as much but I was glad to be wrong. Tony has been a great teacher not just from an acting perspective but also teaching us how to adapt to the new virtual paradigm in the acting industry of self-tapes and Zoom auditions. It can feel awkward acting in front of devices we normally use to video chat with our friends and family but thru the help of the teachers at SSAS, they bring a normalcy to it. As someone who did not grow up around people in the acting industry, Tony has a way of making people feel at ease and helping bring your guard down. The class itself expands more on the eight characters section of the book and every other week is a character study, which were always fun. Even for characters that may not be in someone's wheelhouse, it was a good opportunity to try out those characters. Other weeks were about various other aspects of acting/comedy such as single-cam vs multi-cam, self-taping, romantic comedy, monologues, and cold reading, just to name a few. There really isn't enough I can say about this class so just take it to see for yourself!

Currently, I am in the Comedy Master Class taught by Scott himself. Scott takes things to a new level and tightens the screws on the comedic technique and brings truth to the acting. With his many years of experience and many connections to the industry, there is definitely a lot to learn from Scott, not only in terms of acting but also in managing yourself and navigating your way through the industry. Scott will tell you how it is but also knows how to motivate his students and remind us not to beat ourselves up. As long as you're someone willing to take the time and energy to invest in yourself, he will invest in you. Through the class, you'll have the chance to meet industry professionals as well, which are great experiences on their own.

Although, I've only taken the comedy classes at SSAS, they were great learning opportunities for any actor. The teachers and classes will help you learn about acting, the industry, your image, and most importantly who you are as a person. Overall, I can't thank Scott, Tony, and the rest of the team enough.

Scott Sedita Acting Studios is hands down one of the best acting studio in Los Angeles. Luckily I got referred to it shortly after moving to the city 4 years ago. It has fantastic teachers and amazing faculty/student ratio as well as much needed rare on-camera classes. Scott is efficient, professional and extremely knowledgeable. If you are interested in perfecting your comedic chops Tony will not only keep you entertained throughout the duration of the class, but also get you discover sides of yourself you never knew of. Deborah dives deep into the dramatic emotional world and in combination with Scott's industry expertise deliver an unbeatable audition technique performance machine. Scott's audition technique app available on apple comes in handy when one is in the need for a quick easy to use check list reminder or prep for a coming up appointment. Jorge's scene study class makes an actor want to explore material beyond mediocre familiarity with having a chance to record, watch and keep footage for one's needs at the end of the cycle. Both of Scott's extremely successful books are absolute must reads for general guidance to succeed in Hollywood and the entertainment world as well as find and discover detailed character and scene analysis with great examples from our favorite sitcoms. Whether your interest is drama or comedy-look no further.

I have been in the Comedy Class with Scott Sedita Acting Studios for two years. Out of all the studios and acting teachers in L.A., I feel incredibly lucky to have found them. Scott, Rob and Tony are all amazing teachers who have a way of encouraging you to do your best work and helping you figure out what your comedic strengths are. They offer honest feedback; you walk away from every single class feeling like you have grown and become better. They create such an inspiring environment. If you want to study comedy, then this is the place!

I have been in Scott's advanced sitcom class for three cycles now and I feel more prepared and on top of my game than ever before. Scott is a great talent and gifted teacher who demands -- and gets! -- the absolute best out of everyone. Classes are both fun and challenging and his dynamic approach to comedy stretches and sharpens your comic chops. Moreover, I feel a sense of community at his studio and coach with him every time I get an important audition. Scott is totally dedicated to his students and is always trying to help us, whether inside or outside of class. I must also add that Tony is every bit as wonderful, and his classes are also a challenging laugh riot. You can't go wrong here!
