This restaurant is a learning experience and a great chance to see what Cal Polys all about the Cal polythetic experience in one place "Learn by doing" at its finest . I am a regular on Tues and Thurs and let me tell you chef Reyes ohhh my god he's the Hispanic version of Gordan Ramsey tough on the outside sweetheart on the inside and his passion for teaching the students and creating food is breath taking as the same goes for Jason Zhang who is the front of the house instructor and manager with his elegant approach on the modern day restaurant bring back old tips and tricks and mentoring the students along the way couldn't get any better than this Iconic Duo. Every table has a great view over looking the mountains. Did I mention the great experience for a awesome price.
It’s a nice place to have lunch or dinner, with a beautiful view and nice dining area. The service, done by students of the Collins College, is very professional and adds a very human touch to the experience. The food is well prepared, well served and very tasty. It’s affordable and with a high quality !
This restaurant is definitely a local gem. The menu is ever-changing and seasonal. With some of the produce coming from Kellogg's Farm, along with beers and wines from the campus brewery, it truly is "farm to table" for many items. The R@KR is the most affordable place for a nice meal, prepared and presented with impeccable service, in an elegant setting.
I would talk about my meal but it is always changing. All I can say is that it was all delicious. I also make it a point to try every dessert, but in my excitement, I forgot to take pictures of them.
*** Only open on select days, check ahead of time; reservations required!
The restaurant is very cute. All the staff are students at the hospitality school and doing their best to provide quality service. The view is nice with floor to ceiling windows on one side. Food is limited and is decent for the price. There are limited options for substitutions given that the chefs are also students. I recommend getting the burger though it does come well done.
Came to meet chef but he who retired already
The menu definitely changes a lot
We both got steak, and there just a steak with a big piles of French fries. We were both surprised at first. I can see my friends face which says unsatisfied😄
Everything are more Mexico flavor
Enjoy the serenity here though. Tks
