  I reserved the ocean view room and did not know you have to request 2nd or 3rd story rooms which has an upgrade charge. I arrived and Ashley & Tamar greeted me with smiles and with great service! They upgraded me to the 2nd story room which had a spectacular view of the ocean! I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family! I will be back!

  Great views of the water! Rooms were big and nicely decorated. Staff was really nice, check in was fast, as well as check out. Food in the restaurant was good. Plenty of places to eat nearby.

  We stayed in Mid October for three nights A Sunday - Tuesday stay. We had a Beautiful room, lobby/living area is just a lovely and inviting place to sit and chat. The front desk staff was excellent and very helpful to us. We had an Oceanside room on the third floor, with a lovely balcony that provided a nice place to sit and chill and watch the sea lions and boats coming in and out of the harbor. It really could not have been any better IMO. Housekeeping and valet attendants were great, helpful with directions and dining suggestions and very kind. Loved the availability of the beach cruisers to use to ride up and down the strand. We spent a lot of time using them to go up to Hermosa Beach and Manhattan beach for some fun in the sand time. A lot of opportunity to walk and bike ride to interesting sites, plenty of places to rent SUP and other rec equipment, and dining of a wide variety of tastes and price ranges are all within walking or bike riding distance. We didn't move the car once we arrived. This is a bit fancier than we usually budget, but we found the experience worth the extra $$. We highly recommend the Portofino, and plan on booking here again in the future.

  Great setting right on the marina in Redondo Beach. You can hear sea lions on the breakwater. (I actually recorded the sound and now I use it for my text message alert.) We were getting off-season pricing in October, but it seems they operate on the mini-bar principle -- you pay extra for every little thing, parking in particular.

  The room was beautiful. We stayed in an Oceanside room and the view was spectacular. Could have used another pillow but the bed was comfortable. Be prepared to pay for everything though. We were afraid to touch the coffee because we didn't want the extra cost. And paying for parking is silly. You would think that would be included in your room rate. But you have to pay to park EVERYWHERE out here.
