Unbeatable! I haven't lived in the area for 15 years, but I still do everything I can to get out there to have Fred cut my hair, especially if I'm changing my look. He listens and knows how to work with all kinds of textures and cuts. His skills are matched only by the wide breadth of his knowledge, and you're sure to have a great time talking with him.
I am a guy with basic needs for my haircut but got tired of playing haircut roulette with Supercuts and similar places where it seems everyone is training on you. A friend told me about Fred about 12 years ago and I have not strayed since. Since my needs are quick and simple he is great about fitting me in. For those with more advanced needs than me (styling, coloring, etc.), just look at the other reviews here. I know he has a lot of long time customers, so that says it all!
PS: he is also a great conversationalist to make the time pass quickly.
Fred is the best hair cutter I've ever been to! He's knowledgeable about all aspects of color and care. And most of all, he's great fun to talk to! I come all the way from Alaska to visit, and a cut & color with Fred is always a #1 priority. No one else has touched my hair for several years because his work is the best!

Fred knows how to cut curly hair. Just about anybody can do straight hair, but few seem to know how to work with curls. He takes into account your wants and your lifestyle so it's something you can manage on your own. He knows how to work with your hair's texture and your facial features. And if that wasn't enough, Fred has reasonable prices! In the past five or so years he's the only person who's done my hair. He's great.
