I graduated here in 03 great school loved my teachers who retired after I graduated. Mr. Gonzalez was very hard but also very rewarding. I enjoyed the time I spent at Fletcher very much mostly white kids

The Fletcher Elementary from three years ago and beyond was a school that did poorly in all categories. But now, it has totally turned around with the newly hired principle, Mrs. Nelson. Being bilingual in English and Spanish, she has been able to communicate her new ideas to the population at large. Her leadership has brought on new programs and much needed improvements to the school. We have the first and only Mandarin Immersion program in the Orange Unified District. The PTA is much stronger compared to past years. We have the only music program in partnership with Chapman University. In 2016, we received Gold Ribbon designation, which is nationally recognized. Enrollment is increasing and test scores are up. Fletcher Elementary is improving every year, and melo roos tax from the near by Riverbend Community is funding many of the structural and technological upgrades.

The school historically has not performed well. The new principal, Ms. Nelson, has done an outstanding job turning things around (I.e. updated computer lab, focus on reading initiatives, uniforms, upcoming laptop requirement etc.). You can definitely see she is making strides and improvements are happening. What I really like is you constantly see her around interacting with everyone, a true leader.

Our daughter was part of the first mandarin immersion class a few years ago. The program is tough and requires additional homework time for kids on top of the standard homework. This should be expected of any immersion program. The teachers have been wonderful and the students and parents in this program are all education focused. I highly recommend the program.
