Beautiful scenery all around; miles of poppy fields; you cannot believe how beautiful mother nature is!
Lots of people were there and parking was reasonable: some on the side off Lake St., some as t nearby parking lot..
It's worth the drive! It's maybe once in a lifetime thing!
Bloom - easy hike and good views. You need to come early as there is little parking along the service road. We walked up to one of the points, really good view of the valleys, lots of orange. There are zero services by the trail (well, there are a couple porta-pots), come prepared with good shoes and water. You can go off the path and find some good sit in flower shots.
Easy hike with an easy climb up, it’s certainly easier than finding parking! Beautiful hillsides covered with California Poppies and other flowers create unearthly colored hills.
**If you go for sunset remember these hills sit in the shadows of nearby the Santiago Mountains, so the sun is disappears about 30 min before actual sunset.
The superbloom was beautiful! I'd highly recommend everyone go see it! Don't step on the flowers or leave trash though! Keep it beautiful! Go early and on a week day to avoid crowds. The hike to the top is easy and currently completely covered in poppies.
Walker Canyon is absolutely gorgeous!! Even on this overcast day the wild flowers stood proud! Total, I would say the loop is about 5 miles or so, with many inclines. A moderate hike for sure. Easy to get to from the freeway as well. It was very populated at both ends of the trail but at the top, there weren't many people. It's so peaceful up in the hills.
