The Good & Not So Good about Doctor Datsun(Formally known as "California Datsun")

GOOD: The body work and paint job turned out very nice. The owner(Al Allen) picked up 240Z from my residence and transported the car to their shop. He also kindly loaded and secured car on an auto trailer for me to transport back to my residence.

Not So Good: There were blemishes and oversights when vehicle was reassembled from body shop. (Make sure you take before and after pictures of your car).
Vehicle was returned extremely dusty with white blotches throughout interior of the car.(IMO: A customer should not have to devote a full day cleaning their car after spending over $10k for a restoration).
Communication left a lot to be desired. Make sure you document all conversations.
This is an addendum to the original review:
As noted in original review, there were blemishes and oversights that I noticed after further inspection of the restored vehicle. A couple of the imperfections which occurred during the restoration; are a tear in the seat upholstery and a divot in the front bumper.(See attached photos). Also, Al removed my original, functional antenna and substituted it with an after market faulty antenna. I did not authorize the replacement, and demand my original antenna be returned back to me.
I still have not ruled out the possibility of filing a formal complaint to the BBB for deceptive practices.
Potential customers should be aware of possible bait and switch...

I wish I could give more than 5 stars for the service I received! Al took in my 1973 240z that had been sitting up for years and had every possible issue that you could imagine. He did a phenomenal job and had the car purring like a kitten when he was done.

I want to especially point out the level of service that was provided. Al went over and beyond on a number of occasions to make sure that I left a happy customer. He definitely left a stellar impression on me and I would absolutely recommend his work. I could not be more happier with the service I received.

Al definitely knows his stuff and delivers a top notch service.

The "Doctor" (Al) has been a pleasure to collaborate with during the ground-up restoration of my '76 280Z. Identification and selection of the best combination of systems and components to fulfill my vision has been great fun with Al's assistance and suggestions.
