So many birds! I love birdwatching, and the swans are so gorgeous. The grounds are a little lackluster but I believe it's mostly volunteer run. Great spot to have a picnic and watch all the lovely birds cruise around the lake, or take a walk around the park with your kiddos.
Fun park with a lake in a great location! Fish for bass, trout, and crappie or enjoy a picnic! Centralized restrooms and a special area for small children to play and run around. Leisurely stroll around the lake to take in the views of local and migrating wildlife or the snow topped mountains in the distance. There is plenty of room for social distancing and picnic tables throughout the park. There is also a large covered picnic area you can reserve for large gatherings with a big barbecue pit for cooking up some grub. A day use fee is required for all visitors and varies in price depending on your vehicle/vessel (only $5 for cars). The permit is valid for the entire day, and the machine takes cash or credit/debit cards (no coins). Check it out and enjoy your time at the lake!
I love love LOVE this park! It's so clear that the county takes extra special care of this place. The restrooms are perhaps the cleanest I've ever seen at any public park. It's MASSIVE too! There's so much to do out here, whether it's fishing, feeding the geese, or even going for a family cookout. This is THE spot to be. It is sad to see so many homeless people who seem to live in the park, but even THEY'RE a friendly bunch. I wish the government would do more to house these people, but at least here they have somewhere to be that isn't a slummy street, and that makes me happy. 5 stars!
Edit: whoever is taking care of the litter THANK YOU! Geese can get caught up in fishing line if you're not careful. It's also just so great to see such a trash free park. I've been to so many where litter was at the bottom of their priority list, and it takes away so much of the experience. I'm an amateur photographer, and I cannot stand having a picture ruined by litter.
Great place for a group event! Shaded picnic tables, clean bathrooms stocked with TP and paper towels, pretty small lake, and plenty of parking.
Beautiful day for a picnic for Retired County Employees! Very nice park and facilities.
