Sacred Place United Church

I have been searching for a church that feels good to go to.
The people welcomed me with a kind heart.

I found my Sacred Place back in February. I hadn’t been in church for a while, and I was looking for an open and affirming church where people were more interested in what unites us than in the things that make us different. At the time, Sacred Place was San Dimas Community Church, and I didn’t know it, but they were in transition, moving after just a few months to Rancho Cucamonga! That was another win for me, because now we meet 5 minutes from my house!

From the very first day I visited, people made me feel like family. The members were warm and welcoming, and the pastor was engaging and interested. Everyone took the time to get to know me and make me feel valuable. The pastor even sat and talked with me about who he is as a person, and what his life and ministry are all about. It went a long way to easing my anxiety about jumping in to “just another church experience.’

Sacred Place is about building a community. It’s about giving people the room to be themselves and showing how our faith can unite us, as different as we are. It’s a place where you can come and just be, whatever that means to you, and whoever you are, and you will be valued, respected, and loved. That’s what it has been for me.

We live in a world of “us against them”, but at Sacred Place there’s just us. It’s a place where we want to understand the ways that the love of God brings us together – where the gospel is good news for everyone because God loves us all the same.
