Carmack Elementary School

When I heard there was a special needs school I had to see how it compared to other elementary schools.
What I saw blew me out of the water. The moment I stepped in the school, I knew this is where my daughter needs to be. Aside from their amazing staff. The fact that the classes have almost as many aides as students was 1 important difference I noticed. It set my mind at ease knowing there was so much supervision. Especially since last year I had to remove my daughter from Rio Vista in San Bernardino, because she had swallowed a push pin in class, and due to the lack of available aides and because her speech is limited, no one knew. When I picked her up afterschool, her teacher mentioned she had pointed to her tummy&said ow.. It wasn't until over the weekend & by some miracle it passed through her body safely &with no internal damage. Monday I informed her teacher and was shocked by his reaction..he showed no sympathy or concern.. Instead was on the defence as if I blamed him. I was outraged & left in tears. With only 2 weeks left of school I refused to send her and that's when I found Carmack.
Raising a special needs child alone isn't an easy task.. I'm constantly trying to protect my daugter from any harm . This school makes being a parent of a special needs child a lil easier..
