Tight drive the last 2 miles to the top, through some quaint cabins is met with a triumphant view of San Bernardino metropolis valley.
Some beautiful hillside to wander, but nothing of note; unless you like telecom equipment. Easy to miss the turn coming northbound Hwy 18, so keep an eye out. -

(July 15, 2018, 12:36 pm)If you live in or are just visiting the San Bernardino County Mountains you should visit ALL of our fire lookout towers, beginning with Strawberry Peak. Drive right up to the base of the tower and park. There are full stairs up to the cab (other towers have ship's ladders) and our host will give you the tour of how the rangers lived and worked in these towers back in the day. Learn how we locate fires and report them through dispatch so that the B-E-S-T firefighters - out heroes - can jump on the flames quickly and keep our mountain, or forest, our homes and US safe! On a clear day, you can see the high rise buildings of L.A , the Los Angeles harbor, even the boats moored at the isthmus of Catalina! We have binoculars waiting for you!
