This is a very nice campground. Sites 1-12 have a direct view of the meadow and lake. Higher numbered sites were crowded together and noisy. Restrooms were clean, the pay showers took quarters to operate.
Stayed here for about a week, ending Thanksgiving am. All sites were clean and maintained. There are no issues with power. Water is on a boil notice, so I filled my tank. Full hookups are available. Camp restrooms have a coin-operated shower. Camp was still open until Wednesday night, Thursday am. It was packed by the time I left. Talked to a couple of the "neighbors," many have been going there multiple times for decades.
I loved camping here. It was a perfect quick getaway as it is only about an hour east of SD. We paid around $40 for one day which included a camping site, fishing pass, parking, and pet fee. You need quarters to shower but the showers do have warm water available. I loved it, definitely looking forward to coming back!
Website offers a map view, but I recommend driving through and seeing it first hand. Rangers let us do a lap before we first stayed. Water levels are low but you can still set up a tent, or bring your trailer in and stay. Bbq/fire pits, restrooms, trails to walk and explore… only wish I’d taken advantage of these spots more over the years.
Nice place to camp. RV camping, tent camping. Camp sites are nice, lots shade. Trails to walk or ride bikes. The staff are great. The park is well maintained. Gets busy on the weekends, children playing and people enjoying the beautiful weather. Was a great experience for our family.
