I observed the priest coming from the forest behind the church, and he had gathered wood for the Holy Fire. It was a cold sundown in April. Many parishioners were wearing coats. Ever-Virgin-Most-Powerful, our Mother Mary is full of grace and her presence and Immaculate Conception remains as a sign of hope in these end times when people suffer from the sin of despair ! I visited on my wedding anniversary August 27, 2018 if memory serves correctly.

Today, Thursday February 13, 2020, I thank Blessed Trinity for this gout attack! I am bedridden. It is a blessing to share and witness to the Gospel. I hurt. I offer my pain and suffering with Jesus Christ on the Cross which is one unrepeatable sacrifice. Lord God accept this offering as penance for the sins I committed and reparation for blasphemous actions of those against Blessed Virgin Mother, Mary, and her One and Only Begotten Son. Thank you to dear priest who is pastor of Our Lady of Light and who is our earthly father on this planet as he serves as another Christ who serves our Father in heaven in the Blessed Sacrament!

Sometimes I say that being Catholic is like being part of a world-wide family with "homes" all over the planet, with doors open for your visit! My family enjoys the occasion Sunday road-trip to visit parishes outside of our own. Our Lady of Light is that parish that you don't expect in the easter valleys of San Diego County. As you travel down the road toward the church, be prepared for a left turn into the parking lot that really sneaks up on you! Once there, enjoy entering a very quaint worship space that has an octagon shape. While there are few pews, they all face the altar, and there's plenty of seating for parishioners and guests. The people are friendly, and they will welcome you into the parish hall after Sunday 8am and 10am Masses for a small-town-feel helping of coffee and donuts. The annual parish barbecue festival in September is a massive hit and people come from all around to enjoy the food, fellowship and fundraising.
