  Little Groms is the best!!! I have 3 daughters and we just finished our 4th year of summer camps with Concept surf. Brent and all of the instructors are the best!!! They make it so fun for the kids and all of my girls have learned so much about the ocean and how to surf!! It is our favorite!!!

  Wow, what can I say but Perfection! This is my daughters second year taking Little Groms surf camp and it is amazing. Not only did they teach her to really love the ocean, surfing and boogie boarding but they take extra special care of the kids. You can really tell that all the instructors and their entire team LOVE what they are doing and it shows in the way the kids are treated and how they interact with them. Will definitely be sending my child ever summer from here on out.

  This is the best surf camp in North County. My son has participated in 2 different sessions and loved his time with Brent, the owner, and the rest of the guys. They make the sessions fun and comfortable for all the kids. Carter has learned so much about ocean safety- like how to spot rip currents and how to "read" the waves. Brent greets the kids each morning with a smile on his face and is happy to talk to the parents about their kid's progress after the lessons, something I really like. I highly recommend Little Groms Surf Camp!

  My son first attended Little Grom’s surf camp when he was 5 years old. One of the first things I noticed and first loved about their program is how they respect and go with the kids’ level of comfort. They encourage kids to advance in a fun way without pressure or pushing them past their comfort zone. For example, I’ve observed some kids who won’t even go in the water on their first day—whether it’s because of fear of the water or just being afraid to start something new. One of the instructors would then talk/play with the kid until he/she feels comfortable enough. Soon, these kids are laughing and engaged. They start to get their feet wet or just full on go for it! I know this well, because when my son first started, I sat down with him at the beach for an hour or so before he finally went for it. For sure, I thought this camp would be a bust as I waited for my kid to participate. But, Brent (the owner), persisted and established rapport with my little boy. Soon after the initial spark, my son took off and had so much fun that summer. He loved the Little Groms experience so much that he also attended the spring and summer sessions that followed. And as if that wasn’t enough, he also wanted to go during the school year—even when it’s too cold to be in the water! We signed him up to their after school program, and we’re still happy with this decision. Little Groms instructors like Brent, Hagan, Marley, Micah and others have been awesome coaches to our kid. They are so positive, motivating, fun and very knowledgeable teachers. Our now 7 year old can clearly and concisely explain what a rip tide looks like and can even draw how it happens on the sand. These coaches taught him what to do if he gets stuck on a rip. Water safety is my biggest worry, so we are very happy that they cover not only how to have fun at the beach, but also how to stay safe. Thanks to Little Groms, my kid also knows how to duck dive, body surf, boogie board and surf! He is learning how to find good waves, how it breaks on the beach vs. reef, etc., how to avoid big drops/dips in the water and find sand bars. He is very comfortable being in the outside too! Another thing I like is the student to teacher ratio. It gives me comfort knowing that there are enough instructors to watch every kid. They’re very good at keeping tabs on where the kids are and what they are doing. We highly recommend Little Groms to one and all—two thumbs up and more! (By the way, they also have a camp for older kids, kids who are advanced and also offers private lessons.)
