SD Luggage

All I can say about SD Luggage is WOW!!! I've been determined to do carry-on only (no checked luggage to get lost) for a fast-approaching trip to Italy. I came prepared with my airline's not-to-exceed baggage dimensions for both suitcase (for overhead bin) and personal item (for under airplane seat). . Tamara was amazing, zeroing in among their large selection on a zippered case which fit exact dimensions and had my desired features: velcro panel (to slide over suitcase extended handle) and shoulder strap. Then for suitcase, she knew exactly which ones fit the dimensions, giving me a choice. I appreciated the large tables where I could open each suitcase and compare. Prices were very affordable. In short, I got everything I needed in less than 15 minutes. All in all, one of the most satisfying shopping experiences I've had in ages!!

SD Luggage is our go to place for luggage and travel needs. Their prices are competitive and reasonable.

The owner, (Ron) continually solves issues, answer questions, or provide solutions to our concerns. If there is something you want that isn't on site, he will attempt to get it for you.

Another reason we shop at SD Luggage is that we find wonderful gift items for family and friends.

Parking is never an issue. They are easy to find, and very close to major highways.

What can I say about SD Luggage that hasn't already been said by many other buyers? When you first walk in, you will be amazed by how neat and organized everything is. There is a certain pride of ownership that is very apparent. It almost makes you believe that you will be paying premium prices for your luggage. However, all the products are priced well below market value (even the high-end brands). You CANNOT find cheaper luggage anywhere else in San Diego!

I have visited the store a few times now and always have a great experience. The store owner, Ron is very knowledgeable about luggage/TSA guidelines and is INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY! Seriously. How can anyone be so nice?! Even if you decide not to buy anything, he will send you off with a big smile. Hands down, one of the best retail businesses in SD!

We found this hidden gem just in time for vacation! I’m pretty sure it was the owner working and he was so kind, informative, and NOT pushy. He instantly greeted us and then let us shop around without being overbearing/pushy/salesbased like many other stores I’ve shopped at. The store is SUPER clean and EXTREMELY well priced. I can’t wait to buy more luggage! :) 10/10

Ron, the owner was super nice and knowledgeable. I had called before I came about a potential repair. Simple repairs can be fixed by him at no charge.

I came with my carry on that needed repair on the handle. The bar handle that goes up and down keeps getting caught and wouldn’t retract at any of the holes. Ron couldn’t fix it but suggested a simple solution of using duct tape to trap one of the holes. I appreciate his honesty. I will try that method and if it doesn’t work, I’ll be donating it back for another piece.

I also brought an old retired hard suit case that had a lock. I no longer remember the code so it wasn’t shut. You get 10% towards your next purchase for donating a piece. Ron will either repurpose them for resell or donate to others in need. I loved this!

While he was attempting to fix my luggage, I took a look around and was surprised by all the stuff that this place offers. Backpacks, Packing cubes, bicycle, under garments, old and use luggage from as low as $15.

While I was there, a lady came in saying she only had $20, what can she get? Ron picked out a suitcase for her that was within her budget.

I ended up with a hard Delsey carry on for $29 + 10% off from donating a luggage. I went home and realized it’s smaller than my other Delsey because it’s not expandable.

There’s a 30 day return policy so I was able to bring it back to exchange for a $35 expandable suitcase and paid the difference.

On this day, Ron had posted stacks of storage bins for $10 and $8 depending on size on FB Craigslist and Marketplace. One came in and bought 30 while another person bought 15.

Overall, this SD luggage place is the place to go. Forget about department stores and Costco, you can get a Samsonite for $45! Aside from luggage, Ron seems to offer everything and anything that’s over stocked.
