Prior to founding Southwest Baptist Church, Pastor J. Oscar Wells served as a missionary to China during the years following World War II. Former and long-time Pastor, Bert Harrison, made several mission trips around the world and aggressively promoted missions at home.
Our Purpose Southwest Baptist Church is an independent body of believers allied with the Southern Baptist Convention, dedicated to reaching into the community around us to reach those people who are lost and needing to hear the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
