  Found this place by accident tucked into a quiet little neighborhood. The beef tacos, rice, and beans were delicious. Very fresh tasting and reminded me of grandma's cooking. The enchiladas mixtas were also delicious. Service was quick and friendly. They have a very small dining area inside, but do offer some dining room outside. Their drive through is small, but efficient and you can actually understand the person speaking to you through the microphone. Self serve soda machine and good sized salsa bar with plenty of options available. Very clean inside and out. You can see into part of their kitchen from the dining room window and even that area was clean. Can't wait to go back if I'm in the area again.

  Alvaros is definitely one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants. It’s fresh, the portions are GREAT and the best customer service. Doesn’t surprise me, I mean this place has been around for more than 25 years! It’s a family business so you can definitely feel the special treatment. I live in New York right now and every time I came back to San Diego to visit the family, I love to come to Alvaros. My favorite is the California burrito with guacamole!! I recommend this place to all my friends that visit San Diego. I was a regular customer when I lived there and still am although I’m 3k miles away. You can’t miss it!

  Taco Tuesday folks! Buy one get the other libré. Staff is friendly with quick delivery, a must after a long hungry morning, afternoon, and evening. Enjoy ????

  You are able to select which items you want in your dinner, served in a bowel which I had. Great tasting, very filling. Place is kept clean, pleasant employees, reasonable prices. Unfortunately. , didn't take photos. Eat there quite often.
