  Great hidden gem in spring valley.

  Quaint little Trail. It was maintained by a hard-working volunteer community but since it has been in the County of San Diego hands for the last year it seems to have started to get more improvements. There are some washed out areas, the parts that still need to be improved to make it a safer path (uneven and rocky terrain) it's nice 15-20 min elevated hike.

Dictionary Hill Open Space Preserve - Hiking San Diego County

In the 1800's, Dictionary Hill was known as Lookout Mountain. Rufus King Porter, one of the founders of Spring Valley, would climb the mountain to check whether the steamer was in port before making the trip into Old Town to pick up mail and sell produce.
