Really big portions and flavorful food. Staff is friendly and kitchen works fast but I’d like to have more of mid eastern ambience in this place. My husband was happy with the falafel wrap and I would give my kebab combo plate 4 stars because beef kebab was not chewable at all. At the same time chicken and lamb parts of the combo were pretty good.
One of the best Mediterranean dishes I've ever had, including food made by my chef friend from Kuwait. I had the vegetarian platter: falafel, baba ghanoush, hummus, cucumber and tomato salad, dolma, and roasted eggplant and cauliflower w/ warm pita. So flavorful and delicious! The hummus was creamy with a rich tahini flavor, the baba ghanoush was perfectly smoky, and this was definitely the best falafel I've tasted. Unlike the dry hockey pucks you may have tried elsewhere, Abu Salim's falafel was perfectly crispy on the outside with a fluffy, seasoned interior. I loved dipping the falafel in the herb garlic tahini also provided. Amazing quantities for the price, could be split between two people. My only critique is that I wish they served alcohol but I also recognize that may be a religious guideline for this absolutely divine Mediterranean spot on Haight St. I will definitely be back!
Great falafel I highly suggest getting it, really good Vietnamese coffee. Four stars because of their hummus wasn't the best and their lamb was a little overcooked but would go again.
We dined inside with the door wide open and a good breeze. The food was delicious with authentic flavors. He had a chicken shwarma wrap; I had stuffed falafel wrap, which included pine nuts and sumac. Shared some Arabic salad. Tasty and plentiful. Friendly staff, good service.
