Fiachra Figs O'Sullivan

We’re both so glad that we took the plunge and chose Figs to guide us through couples therapy (a first for both of us).

Thanks to him we now tackle issues head on as a team, instead of blaming each other and allowed me to communicate with my partner from a much softer, more vulnerable place, which in turned has helped him open up and share more of him.

His relatability and ability to be vulnerable right alongside us has been key In allowing ourselves to open up and get the most out of each session. All to say, we couldn’t recommend him enough!

The time we spent with Figs was well worth it. He is such a compassionate person and really helps you to reconnect through empathy and understanding. Everyone should have sessions with Figs:)

The one thing I can say about Figs, is that he engages the world through his heart. We collaborated, briefly, on a residential real estate development concept. He was interested, careful, and motivated. I loved the way he leaned into it, and was open to learning along the way. What I learned through our association was how much he loved his home town, and how respectful and aware he was of both his and my feelings. Making money was important to him, but equally so were matters of the heart. Above all he was careful to care for our 'relationship', such as it was, in this financial dealing. Bottom line: I would trust him with both my money and my delicate feelings.

I find Fiachra has the heart warming ability to entertain, instruct and heal all at the same time. Is it his Irish nature or his timing? I believe it's rare to find a man who can be so clearly masculine yet soft and heart centered at the same time.

On one occasion I was working with Fiachra during a group therapy session. It was a particularly vulnerable and emotional time for me. Figs was able to have enough presence to connect with me while coordinating everyone else to provide a healing container. At one point Figs directed everyone to hold me, and then he took me step by step through my rage and grief in ways I had never experienced. This was a real gift to me because as a 6'4" tall man I can feel I am just too big for the world and the people around me. This is especially true if I am feeling grief and frustration. Fiachra guided me into my feelings in a way that I never felt alone or out of control, and coached me to move through a place where I was very stuck.

I am grateful and so appreciative of his abilities as a therapist. I highly recommend Figs to anyone who wants to become their most authentic self, is dealing with grief and loss, or just wants the support of a gifted therapist.

Figs is a super sharp and insightful therapist. He’s also deeply sensitive and empathetic. I know him as a colleague, having participated in workshops and professional development trainings with him. He is warm, tuned-in, and perceptive. I appreciate how he uses humor to make it easier to work with challenging emotions. He is easy to connect with, accepting and caring. I am always happy to have the chance to refer clients to him because I know they are in good hands. He does individual therapy and couples counseling / couples therapy in San Francisco and Marin.
