The staff at the consulate was very understanding and helpful. I had applied for passport renewal in October and the processing was delayed. On contacting them via e-mail they mentioned the passport had reached the consulate and was ready to be dispatched. I had to travel the next day for VISA stamping. The team was understanding of my situation and helped me get the passport directly from the consulate instead of dispatching it via VFS. Really appreciate all the help from everyone!

Although the paperwork and information required to obtain the Overseas Citizenship of India 🇮🇳 or simply known as OCI is exhaustive, the process of application online including submitting the documents is much simplified. Also, the instructions were mostly clear. The initial follow up from VFS was good. I had to add a couple of documents to my application (recommend also text update for urgent items.) The personal follow up and reassurance by Consul General Shri TV Nagendra Prasad ji was really nice. I am quite happy with the overall experience in obtaining my OCI. Already shared the OCI with pride with my friends and family. Thank You CGI San Francisco 🙏🏼🙏🙏🏿

The team here is very kind and helpful. I had applied for passport renewal using standard process and needed to travel urgently to India. Given my police verification was already done, they were very understanding of my situation and issued the passport the same day. Also, since my date of travel was in 2 days they did not wait to send it to VFS courier services and after due procedure, gave me the passport there itself.
