Original Joe’s Westlake

Joe's has always been a staple here In the neighborhood. The remodel has turned out fairly well. The food is is still top notch. But someone has to pay for that remodel right? So prices went up when they reopened. Then up some more like everything else. But the quality food hasn't changed. Which to me is most important. I had Thursday special which is corned beef with cabbage.

I've lived 3 blocks away from here since 1969 and just started eating at Joe's after the reopening. Go figure. Didn't know what I was missing. It's very good at a decent price for what you get. Classic Italian food reminiscent of my Italian grandmother's cooking. Mixed drinks are honest and potent which keeps me ordering and coming back. Butter cake is awesome.

The best time to go is upon opening when there is no wait. The food and the service was excellent. We enjoyed our dishes which were Sole Picatta and Broiled Salmon both perfectly prepared in generous portions. The french fries and homemade ravioli were tasty side dishes that we shared and liked too. On weekends there is a special brunch menu with favorites such as eggs Benedict and the delicious brunch burger topped by a fried egg and bacon on a toasted brioche bun my favorite with great fries on the side. For food and service Joe's sets the standard for Daly City and judging by the daily crowds shortly after opening their customers share this sentiment.

4-stars for brunch! Great place to get an omelette in Daly City. Their Eggs Florentine is delicious too. The spinach in it always taste fresh, and isn't too overloaded with cream. In the evening, their cocktails are always delicious. They make a great Maker's Manhattan. Finally the place has a great ambiance. They did a beautiful job with the renovation, channeling the mid-century modern vibe of Westlake.

When I go out to eat it’s really important for me to be in a place that not only serves me the best healthy foods; but that the staff gives me peace and joy while I’m there. I’m eating from their excellent chefs hands and their beautiful presentations. I dine inside and I also take out as well. Original Joe’s Westlake gives me all of this and more. The manager are excellent examples to their staff. My experience (s) at Original Joe’s heals my body and my soul. I am grateful that they are open and serving our community ♥️
