  Last-minute booking of an overnight stay for my boyfriend’s birthday was tremendous. Great dinner next door at Sam’s Chowder House and nice to awaken to a cozy but rainy ocean view. We’ll be back again soon!

  Everything was wonderful! Road noise was a little much but next time we know to be on the harbor side! Especially loved the wooden trays for breakfast in our room.

  We love coming to the Beach House in Half Moon Bay. This was our second stay and will definitely return. The location is hard to beat within walking distance of great restaurants the coastline beaches and water/biking activities. We had a great view from our third story penthouse room of the marina and the ocean. We really like the in-room fireplace that adds a nice ambiance to the stay. The grounds staff was helpful in finding a spot I could charge my Tesla while we were parked. The continental breakfast is nice and we enjoyed the wine and cheese spread on Friday night. The hot tub is huge and there are nice views from the pool/spa area. The rooms are nice and the bed is definitely comfortable. Some of the furnishings are bit worn and I think there is some updating that could be done to the rooms to make them a bit more modern and stylish but that is a minor concern. We look forward to a return visit to the Beach House in HMB in the near future!

  I have just two MINOR suggestions. #1---since the hotel is, I would say, mostly for vacationing travelers who don't have to wake up early, it might be a good idea to familiarize each guest at check in about the double sided door hanger. On our first night, I hung it out thinking it was sufficient to let the maid know not to disturb us. I didn't know one side said 'we're out playing...' --and sure enough, there was a knock at 8:30 AM. #2 - the blinds. They are sufficient with what they're intended to do but don't completely block out the morning light. I suggest installing a 'black out' curtain in front of the blinds so those that like it dark--and to sleep in-- are able to. I also read other reviews before we got there. The most notable in them was the fog horn---and I realize this isn't something you can control and wasn't at all a problem to us (you can hardly hear it, in my opinion)!! BUT--I have an easy solution your guests might want to try if it comes up. Turn the room fan on medium or high! It should provide enough ambient noise to completely drown out the horn!

  We recently stayed at the Beach House Hotel in Half Moon Bay for our 44th anniversary. We reserved a junior ocean suite and were absolutely delighted with the accommodations. We had a lovely view of the ocean, fireplace, a complete kitchenette and a lovely sitting area. The staff was extremely helpful, and very welcoming! The free Continental breakfast had several wonderful items to choose from and trays available if you wanted to take it back to your room. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate!
